Cheryl Gayheart
Vice President of Regulatory Affairs
Cheryl Gayheart is the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, where she oversees the company’s licensing and regulatory strategy. Her additional responsibilities include oversight of the fleet’s Security, Emergency Planning, and Probabilistic Risk/Safety Analysis functions.
Prior to this role, Cheryl served as the Fleet Regulatory Affairs Director, with responsibility for Licensing, Compliance, Emergency Preparedness and the Fleet Director of Safety Analysis and Risk Informed Engineering responsible for the SNC plant safety analysis bases and risk informed programs and initiatives.
Cherly joined Southern Nuclear in 2012 as the Plant Manager at Farley Nuclear Plant, where she was responsible for the overall safe operation and maintenance of the plant. In 2013, she became the Farley Site Vice President, assuming direct responsibility for the safe, reliable operation of the plant, including all aspects of operations, maintenance, technical, and administrative support.
Prior to joining SNC, Cheryl held multiple positions at Exelon’s Braidwood Generating Station, Byron Generating Station and served as the Exelon Fleet Operations Corporate Functional Area Manager (CFAM) responsible for Governance, Oversight, Support and Perform (GOSP) functions for all 10 Exelon sites.
Cheryl holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
