Magwood Visit

William D. Magwood IV, Director-General of the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), recently visited Southern Nuclear Company to share industry updates, discuss recent nuclear learnings and tour Plant Vogtle.

On Wednesday, July 13, Magwood visited the Energy Center and participated in several employee events both at SNC and across the Southern Company system. During a Fireside Chat, attendees asked Director-General Magwood questions related to his career and the role of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in our industry. During a Nuclear Discussion, Director-General Magwood shared the latest updates from the industry, including nuclear’s role in securing a carbon-free future, heightened international interest in nuclear energy and much more.

On Thursday, July 14, Director-General Magwood toured the ongoing progress at Vogtle 3&4 and met with plant leadership.
